In this episode, Alex Furmansky, Founder and CEO of custom-toy company Budsies, shares how he created an “in-store” experience online to build and maintain customer relations in the rapidly- expanding online retailer landscape. Alex talks about how he uses social media to tell a full story versus the idea of traditional advertising, targeting not only children but parents as well. Despite the challenges of creating completely custom-designed stuffed toys designed by their customers (usually kids with wild imaginations), Alex makes sure Budsies stays true to their mission in giving back with their Budsies Pal Program, which provides custom plushies to sick children. He urges companies to stick to their values and involve their customers as much as possible in order to break through the sea of online retailers emerging.
